Valentine’s Day is that special time of year when you and your spouse or significant other can spend some “alone” time together. No kids, no other family, no friends, just you and your Valentine’s Day sweetheart. Every couple needs time alone at least this one time a year. I make special plans for my husband and I every year. We deserve it!
Milwaukee has some great places to get away to. Here are just a few choices for you on Valentine’s Day or over the Valentine’s Day weekend.
1) The Daniel M. Soref Planetarium (at the Milwaukee Public Museum at 800 W. Wells St.) will be hosting a three-evening run of a Valentine’s show called Romancing the Stars. It’s for adult couples only. It costs $20 per couple (reservations highly recommended). Billed as a “romantic tour of the universe” this is a unique way for you to kick off your Valentine’s day or weekend. Truly unique! Check out the hours and how to get tickets right here.
2)Next, the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory at 524 S. Layton Blvd invites you to take a candlelight stroll through the domes complete with candy and cocktails. The event takes place from 6-10pm on Sunday evening, February 14, 2010. Call 414-649-9830 for more details or check with Friends of the Domes.
3) Lastly, (by the way, it’s the one I selected for this year’s “date”) is the Bartolotta Catering Company & Events Dinner and a Movie. They will be hosting this at Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin (located at 500 N. Harbor Dr.). The cost for this three-course meal and the showing of the movie Chocolat is $55 a couple (plus tax & tip). For full details visit Bartolotta’s site or call 414-765-8610.
It doesn’t matter what you do, whether it’s quiet time or fun time, just as long as you do it together!
