festivalofcedarburgI think having the Festivals of Cedarburg scheduled on Valentine’s Day weekend, (Saturday & Sunday, February 13th & 14th, 2010) played a part in their theme this year.  It’s Romancing the Snow!  I love it!  This is their 36th year of providing fun and entertainment for the entire family.  My family and I never miss this event.  There is skating, bed racing, barrel races, and don’t even get me started on the wonderful food that’s served every time you turn around!

I want you to check out all of the events at their Web site but my favorite, year over year, is the ice carving contest.  Every year the most remarkable images take shape out of these blocks of ice.  The carvers are remarkable!

Cedarburg, Wisconsin is located just a quick 20 minute drive north of Milwaukee.

The hours of the festival are 8am-10pm on Saturday and 8am-3pm on Sunday.  Most of the events are free and all open to the public.

The Milwaukee area has something for everyone when it comes to entertainment and events.
